The great outdoors

Cora has discovered the great outdoors this week as we have started going for walks every day with my friend Braylin and her baby Vivian. This is good news for everyone involved!
Phoenix has started to cool down as we near November, cool down being a relative term to mean high 80's to 90 degrees.

Other than that, Cora gets to spend some quality time with dad and mom...

Sit in the bouncer and watch mom cook...

Take long naps...

And play on our very favorite zebra skin rug :)

Phoenix, Arizona Temple

The long awaited Phoenix Temple is having its open house until November 1st. It will be dedicated on November 16th. It is amazing, our apartment is not a 5 minute drive to this temple! It is such a blessing to have a temple so close.

Weston and I were able to go to the open house and see it this week! It is amazing! It has beautiful detail and a unique oval shape to many of the rooms.

Birthdays and Visitors

Happy 26th birthday to my most handsome man!!
Weston's birthday is just a week after Cora's, which will be exciting for them most years...
This year I was still recovering and thank goodness for some visitors that made his birthday a little more special.

Cora was not a visitor, but she sure made birthday more fun:)

My mom was here on the actual day and made Weston's favorite cake and helped me decorate!

Truth be told Weston studied almost the entire day because he had three big tests that were happening that week. This is very much like most other weeks during second year :)

The week after, his parents came into town. His dad was in Phoenix on business and his mom came along to meet her first grandbaby! I am embarrassed this is the only picture I got, but again, I was still recovering:) Here we are gathered around the dinner table, watching his little sister Madi's volleyball game as SUU dominated!!

One Week Old

Holy smokes. If I got this much cuter each week I was alive, it would be ridiculous how cute I was!!
It has been fun to see Cora grow and spend time with her. Pictures really can't capture exactly what she looks like, but you can take my word for it until we come home for Christmas, this girl is cute!

The Legend of Cora

Oh mercy, Cora Pearl Packard is finally here! And while she is not actually the next Avitar... I wanted to share a little about her story.

On Saturday night my water erupted!! There was no mistaking that she was coming!
We went to the hospital, here was my last pregnant belly photo.

We were thrilled!

At noon the next day (Sunday, October 5), Cora was born! A healthy baby of 8lbs 13oz, 21" long.
We both loved the name Cora and Pearl was a family name from Weston's side.
This was one of the best experiences of my life. Look at this happy new dad :)

Our lives would never be the same, but it was amazing how natural it felt to have her.
This was the next day, we took some candid haggard new parent pictures...

First family photo!

These are from the first few days home, mostly taken at night when we were hanging out together.

And of course, her first bath!

This is just the best life ever! I had no idea how much I would love being a mom and having my little family:)
